World Baseball Classic: U.S. team draws for MLB Network

It's easy to dump on the less-than-classic ratings -- think close to zero -- for baseball's World Baseball Classic.

But this isn't bad: The MLB Network averaged 760,000 viewers for the U.S. win against Canada Sunday.

That's not huge. But outside of post-season MLB action, it was MLBN's most-watched game ever -- topping a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game last October by 26%.

And the WBC does give MLBN a minor boost in otherwise slack time slots.

Largely thanks to coverage of 15 WBC games, it averaged 252,000 viewers from Friday to Sunday -- making it MLBN's most-watched weekend ever.
