'The Alchemist'? LeBron James is better off reading these books right now

With LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers one loss away from their season ending, James on Thursday was spotted was reading “The Alchemist."

A great book, but at the moment the King would be better off reading these:

1. “Losing Isn't Everything: The Untold Stories and Hidden Lessons Behind the Toughest Losses in Sports History," by Curt Menefee and Michael Arkush.

Rather than reading “The Alchemist," James needs to become the alchemist — by learning to turn losing into winning. When the news media grills James about how he and the Cavaliers lost the Eastern Conference finals to the Boston Celtics — sorry, Cleveland fans, but it’s inevitable — he’ll be able to identify lessons in losing.

More: Will Celtics end LeBron James' tenure in Cleveland — again?

More: LeBron James shows off uncanny memory with precise recall of all six Game 5 turnovers

2. “Trump: The Art of the Deal," by, well, you know who.

Sure, James referred to President Trump as a “bum’’ last year. But this book will unlock the secrets James and his business team need this offseason to a cut a new deal. (James is set to become a free agent.)

3. “The Little Prince," by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

As the famous fox in the book says, “One sees clearly only with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eye." James should listen to his heart — and his financial advisers — when deciding which team to play for next season.

4. “Counter Intelligence: Where to Eat in the Real Los Angeles," by Jonathan Gold.

Face it, James won’t be eating his home meals next season in Cleveland. Or Philadelphia. Or Golden State. With apologies to Las Vegas, it’s L.A., baby. LeBron bought a $23 million home in Los Angeles last year, and a paperback copy of this book will set James back only 19 bucks and help keep him well nourished.

5. “Your Personal Horoscope 2018" by Joseph Polansky.

James, whose birthday is December 30, is a Capricorn. It’s worth noting that Capricorns are influenced by the goat. Or is it the G.O.A.T.?

Happy reading, LeBron!
