Fantasy sizzlers and fizzlers: Marvin Jones becoming an elite receiver

These players saw their fantasy football values increase or decrease the most based on their performances in Week 3:

SIZZLERS

WR Marvin Jones, Detroit Lions: After racking up 205 yards and two touchdowns in a loss, come-from-behind effort against the Green Bay Packers, Jones — not Golden Tate — has looked like the No. 1 wideout in the Lions’ pass-heavy offense.

RB DeMarco Murray, Tennessee Titans: With tight end Delanie Walker sidelined, Murray was again the focal point of the offense. He delivered on the ground (114 yards, TD) and in the air, catching all five of his targets.

WR Terrelle Pryor, Cleveland Browns: Pryor was all over the formation, even taking snaps at his old quarterback position. With Josh Gordon set to return in Week 5, Pryor likely will be just a stopgap measure until the offense’s pieces are back in place.

QB Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos: Throwing for four scores and more than 300 yards with no interceptions on the road against a talented Cincinnati defense is Sizzler worthy. Though truth be told, the Bengals dropped more than one easy interception.

TE Zach Miller, Chicago Bears: He tallied 78 yards receiving and scored a pair of touchdowns as he found the seams in the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coverage most of the evening.

FIZZLERS

TE Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots: Gronk is back. Too bad someone forgot to tell us he was only slated for one target — with zero receptions.

WR Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers: After leading all wide receivers in fantasy points after the first two weeks, Benjamin received one target Sunday, which he didn’t catch.

RB Ryan Mathews, Philadelphia Eagles: Granted, he did suffer stiffness in his left ankle and was pulled from the game after two carries for -5 yards, but the Eagles offense scoring 34 points left Mathews’ owners shaking their heads.

RB C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos: Just when it looked like Anderson was about to turn fantasy stud, he turned in a 14-carry, 37-yard performance. He looks more like a matchup-dependent running back now.

New York Jets offense: It has been 15 years since someone threw more interceptions in a game than Ryan Fitzpatrick did, totaling six on the day. As a result, the entire Jets offense suffered as Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker came up small in a losing effort against the Kansas City Chiefs.
