Fantasy football stock watch: Isaiah Crowell, Kenyan Drake get back on track
These players saw their fantasy values increase or decrease most based on their performances in Week 5:
Sizzlers
RB Isaiah Crowell, New York Jets: Crowell ran over and through the Denver Broncos for 219 yards, averaging 14.6 per carry. According to Elias Sports, it was the best average in NFL history for a running back with at least 15 touches.
RB Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins: Drake had his best fantasy day of the season as he caught seven passes for 69 yards, but he was limited on the ground again due to the presence of Frank Gore. We're taking baby steps but in point-per-reception leagues, Drake is fantasy-relevant again.
RB Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals: Fantasy owners wondered if he’d play well coming back from knee surgery and if he’d be the same fantasy-stud he was before his injury? His heavy involvement in the game plan answered both questions with a resounding yes.
QB Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns: Leading the Browns to their first win as their starting quarterback, Mayfield spread the ball around to nine different receivers. He has shown nothing but improvement each week.
RB James Conner, Pittsburgh Steelers: The coaching staff admitted last week Conner needed the ball more often. After a big Week 1, Conner had fizzled until racking up 185 total yards and two touchdowns vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Fizzlers
WR Marvin Jones, Detroit Lions: Jones and quarterback Matthew Stafford have not been connecting on the deep balls. In addition, Golden Tate and Kenny Golladay are seeing many more targets, making Jones now the offense’s No. 3 receiver.
WR Quincy Enunwa, New York Jets: Targeted five times, Enunwa hauled in none of them, scoring a zero for fantasy owners. He is dealing with a hand-injury but 0-for-5 didn't help anyone.
WR Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks seem to have found a running game, which negatively impacts fantasy numbers for both Baldwin and quarterback Russell Wilson. Baldwin received his usual number of snaps but managed just one yard on his only target.
WR Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders: Another receiver who caught his lone target, Cooper was a tiny part of the game plan against the Los Angeles Chargers. His lack of usage is concerning if the team truly starts excluding him in an effort to win.
WR Kenny Stills, Miami Dolphins: With DeVante Parker inactive again, Stills had a huge opportunity and under-delivered again. With the tough Chicago Bears next on the schedule, it may be time to give up on Stills.
