Vick says Lamar Jackson is better than he was
Michael Vick had extremely high praise for Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson after the Cardinals obliterated Florida State, 63-20, on Saturday. Jackson ran for four touchdowns and threw one. Through the first three games this season, Jackson has 10 rushing TDs (for one of those he jumped over a defender) and eight passing.
Vick says Jackson is "five times better" than he was when he played at Virginia Tech from 1999-2000. Vick ran for 17 touchdowns and threw for 21.
This isn't the first time Vick has compared himself to the young QB. In a story that published on Friday, he told The Courier-Journal:
"He's throwing touchdowns. You're getting them through the air; you're getting them on the ground. He's making guys miss. He's elusive. That's everything I was when I was at Virginia Tech. And I was able to put together games where I was productive, and we won."
The expectations are high for Jackson going forward. Fans chanted "Heisman!" at him as he left the field on Saturday.
Louisville plays Marshall next Saturday.
