Pete Rose shocks A-Rod with Derek Jeter comparison

Pete Rose and Alex Rodriguez have both been gifts to baseball fans as part of Fox Sports' postseason coverage. They're great for different reasons, but there's something about Alex Rodriguez as a baseball analyst that just seems right. He's simply fantastic at it.

Well, Rose - outside of Hall of Fame photobombs - is excellent at creating spontaneous moments of made-for-TV entertainment. That was on display before Thursday's NLCS Game 5 between the Dodgers and Cubs. Rose was making the point that Anthony Rizzo's presence has inspired Kris Bryant to be a better player. He then drew that same comparison to Rodriguez with Derek Jeter, saying Jeter inspired A-Rod.

Let's just say Rodriguez gave everything he had to keep his composure and go along with Rose's suggestion. But that wasn't enough to hide his true thoughts on what Rose was saying. Check out the frame-by-frame look at A-Rod's reaction.

Rodriguez managed to change the subject to Ken Griffey Jr., who would have been a far better comparison than someone who trails A-Rod in career WAR by 46.

The two were able to high-five and move on. That's RE2PECT.
