Watch Cubs' Kyle Schwarber take batting practice a day before World Series
The Cubs' Kyle Schwarber was a monster part of the team's lineup during last year's postseason, and it looks like he may possibly be making a return as a designated hitter in the World Series.
Schwarber, 23, was just activated off the 60-day DL, which he was placed on after tearing his ACL in an outfield collision in the third game of the season. And on Monday, still on rehab assignment in Mesa, Arizona, Schwarber took batting practice.
The swing looks pure:
Now, this is just batting practice, and Schwarber, who hit five home runs in last year's postseason, may still have a ton of rust to work off. It's unclear if he's ready to face MLB pitchers.
But if he can perhaps get to Game 2 in Cleveland and provide some pop as a DH, that's only going to elevate the Cubs' already sky-high spirits.
