Bortles finds news ways to turn over the ball
Blake Bortles is a bad, bad NFL quarterback. He's inaccurate, his mechanics are out of whack and he makes a lot of bad decisions. And even when Bortles tries to make the smart play, he still finds away to hand the ball over to the defense.
Here's Bortles throwing a screen pass in the dirt to avoid a loss after the Texans sniff out the call. It's the correct decision, but the execution is lacking.
The ball bounces off T.J. Yeldon's foot and ends up in the waiting arms of Whitney Mercilus.
The play initially went in the books as an interception but has since been changed to a fumble. The throw appears to be going forward, but, I don't think Bortles will mind the scorer doing their part to keep his interception totals down.
The "fumble" was Bortles' second turnover of the game. He threw a ghastly pick-6 to get the Texans on the board early. Houston ended up winning the game 24-21.
