FTW: Ranking the NFL's most dysfunctional teams

The concept is simple: Which NFL teams are poorly run, and which are set up for long-term success. A lot of factors went into devising these rankings, including, but not limited to, front office competency, coaching longevity and future outlook, the direction of the franchise and whether a team has a franchise quarterback in place. With that said, let's get to the rankings, starting with the most functional team in the league…

1. New England Patriots

Bill Belichick has made some questionable moves in the last year, but this team hasn't missed the postseason with a healthy Tom Brady since 2002. Nothing dysfunctional about that.

2. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have a smart general manager, a good head coach, a young franchise quarterback, and a cadre of defensive stars in the their prime and locked up to long-term deals. Seattle is going to be good for a very long time.

29. San Diego Chargers

The Chargers have a pretty good team on the field, but Mike McCoy is likely coaching his last season in San Diego and the team will probably leave the city in the offseason. Things could get ugly in December.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars

Where do we start? Blake Bortles is getting called out by teammates. Gus Bradley is statistically one of the worst coaches ever. And now the team is selling their opponents' merchandise at the stadium. Your thoughts, Jaguars fans? View the GIF

31. Indianapolis Colts

Do you know how incompetent the brain trust of a team has to be to squander Andrew Lucks' career? There's a reason why Colts fans refer to coach Chuck Pagano, GM Ryan Grigson and owner Jim Irsay as "The Three Stooges."

32. New York Jets

The quarterback who held out for months is awful. The coach has lost control of the locker room. The best players on the team don't even bother to show up for team meetings, even when there's cake. The highest-paid player on the team is old and doesn't try. And the team's cap situation is troubling. Other than that, the Jets are in pretty good shape.
