Bill Belichick is a Thanksgiving superfan
Bill Belichick does not seem to get a whole lot of joy out of much outside of football. The guy can't even appreciate a solid Buttfumble joke.
But there is one thing Belichick does love outside of football: Thanksgiving Day.
That's high praise. Belichick clearly holds the holiday in higher regard than a certain college head coach does.
Here's the thing, though. While Belichick may have been speaking about Thanksgiving, there was a bit of a Freudian slip in there. The full quote via NESN.com:
"Football's a great holiday," Belichick said. "It's about family, friends, good food and football. How can it get any better than that? One of the all-time greats. So, I hope everyone has a good holiday. See you Friday."
My colleague Maggie Hendricks theorized this is a Smurfs situation, where Belichick just refers to everything in life as football. That would make a lot of sense.
Happy Thanksgiving Football, y'all.
