Ravens brilliantly use holding tactic to seal win
Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh took a page out of the Chip Kelly playbook to clinch a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Leading by seven with 11 seconds remaining, Ravens punter Sam Koch took a snap and calmly let the clock run down to zero before stepping out of the end zone for a safety.
Koch was able to waste the clock because every Baltimore player intentionally held a Bengals defender on the play, drawing numerous flags.
The safety counted, but, by rule, a game does not continue on an offensive penalty as it would on a defensive penalty. The game was over without a punt return or Hail Mary attempt thanks to some shrewd coaching by Harbaugh.
