Cam Newton won’t name child after Josh Norman

Cam Newton and his longtime girlfriend, Kia, are expecting their second child this month. Though Newton won't say what they'll be naming the baby, he was more than happy to rule out one name on Wednesday.

The name won't be Josh. Or Joshua. Or anything close to Josh Norman.

The Panthers and Redskins meet on Monday night. It'll be Norman's first game against his former team since being released in the offseason. Ahead of the matchup, Newton was asked about the possibility of naming his next child after his ex-teammate. And, well, it's not going to happen.

Newton said with a smile:

"Josh Norman? Not in a million years. No. If I were to tell Josh Norman I'm naming my next child Josh…Joshua?…nah. Nah."

Josh Newton just doesn't have quite ring to it.
