Bayern Munich player passes ball to Santa ad

Poor Thiago.

Everyone is getting on the Bayern Munich midfielder for making a pass to what he thought was a teammate during Wednesday's match against RB Leipzig. Instead, it was an animated Santa advertisement that happened to be wearing the same red colors that Bayern Munich dons:

I say: Everyone give the dude a break. Here he is, minding his own business and turning around with the ball when he sees a streak of red out of the corner of his eye. In any soccer game, that's a perfect pass to get the offense going. It's not his fault the ad happened to feature Santa pushing a snowplow.

Or maybe he was just in the holiday spirit. That's more than okay this time of year.
