Stat about Carr's injury makes it more depressing


Poor Oakland Raiders fans already got a lump of coal in their stockings on Christmas Eve, when young quarterback Derek Carr broke his fibula in the middle of a breakout season.

My apologies for bringing the devastating injury up again, but it turns out that Carr's bad break is a unique one, a statistical anomaly that produced this fact courtesy of ESPN's Adam Schefter:

That's pretty crazy. And here's a bonus stat that's pretty depressing too, given how incredibly good the Raiders' offensive line has been all year:
