Anti-Trump Pats fans donate money while rooting

Some New England Patriots fans who don't agree with the politics of our current President might feel weird about rooting on a franchise with some ties to Donald Trump - head coach Bill Belichick, QB Tom Brady and owner Robert Kraft are all friends or supporters of POTUS.

One of those Pats die-hards is Josh Gondelman, a comedian and writer at HBO's Last Week Tonight:

His solution? To donate money to causes he thinks are worthy when the Patriots score:

Gondelman did clarify his statements about Brady's politics later. Via Boston Magazine:

He also notes, by the way, that calling Tom Brady's politics "garbage" might have been "hyperbolic."

He clarified: "What I mean, in the cold harsh light of day, is that I wish he would engage more critically with politics given his well-documented terrible choice in red hats."
