Isaiah Thomas says Tom Brady texted him after SB

Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas got to meet Patriots quarterback Tom Brady over the summer when Brady joined the team for a Kevin Durant pitch meeting. Since then, Thomas has raved about the QB and talked about how they've actually become good friends.

At a night practice on Tuesday before the Celtics play the Kings on Wednesday, Thomas told reporters that Brady texted him after t he Patriots won Super Bowl 51 and let him know that he's got next.

It's pretty neat that these two incredible athletes - both phenomenal in clutch moments but at different points in their careers - have developed a relationship. Real recognize real.

Thomas talked more about his friendship with Brady and what exactly they talk about when he was a guest on The Six this week. Thomas said:

"I want to be great, so I try to put myself around those type of guys. And when I first met (Tom Brady), he was just so genuine. Usually those guys got a little swag to 'em that can rub off negative, but he was just like, as many questions that I asked him, he asked me back about basketball.

"Just about different situations in basketball, and I was asking him how he reads defenses so well and how he makes it look so easy. We text every other week, and when a big game comes up, he's a big supporter of mine."
