Mike Trout says he hit his first hole-in-one

The Angels' Mike Trout, who many people recognize as the best baseball player but who many others don't recognize at all, told reporters that he hit his first hole-in-one on Friday while golfing in Phoenix.

Per MLB.com's Doug Miller:

The reigning American League MVP was proud to report that he achieved the first hole-in-one of his life on Friday afternoon, when he aced the par-3 second hole at Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, putting the ball in the cup from 127 yards away with a 56-degree wedge.

The reaction to this is well of course he did. Trout is good at a lot of things. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said, per TheOC Register's Jeff Fletcher:

"He's dunked a basketball, gotten a hole-in-one," Scioscia said. "He can probably run a pretty good stop-and-go as a wideout or a tight end, but we're happy he's playing center field for us."

To that, I should add that Trout has also beaten the Warriors' Draymond Green at a game of P-I-G. But there's video of that. There doesn't appear to be any video of Trout's hole-in-one.

The Tigers' Justin Verlander playfully tweeted that he's not buying it - video or it didn't happen.

Then, Verlander added that well, if it did happen, Trout owes some players drinks.

Fair enough, I guess.
