Triple-A pitcher called for balk from gust of wind

Strong winds can easily affect a baseball game, but that typically involves a fly ball.

During Sunday's Triple-A game between the Salt Lake Bees and Omaha Storm Chasers, strong winds in Utah were too much for Salt Lake starter Troy Scribner to handle. Eventually, a particularly severe gust literally pushed Scribner off the mound, causing a balk.

That's a new one.

The balk advanced a runner to third base, but Scribner was able to pitch out of the jam without allowing a run.

Salt Lake would win, 5-2.
