O.J. Simpson granted parole
After nearly nine years behind bars, former NFL star O.J. Simpson was granted parole on Thursday and can be released as early as Oct. 1.

Just when you thought O.J. Simpson's hearing couldn't get more sports-themed after a parole board member wore a Kansas City Chiefs tie, a shirt with the Heisman logo showed up.
Bruce Fromong, the sports memorabilia dealer who was a victim in the robbery that led to Simpson being imprisoned, came to testify at the Hall of Famer's parole hearing on Thursday. And check out what he wore:
We know: He's a sports memorabilia dealer. But as we did with the Chiefs tie, we wonder: Is that sending a message at all? A reminder of Simpson's football past to help his cause?
