Jeff Banister escorts invading pigeon off of field

The Rangers didn't need to wait for a brave groundskeeper to step up to resume the game after an animal found its way on the field.

Instead, manager Jeff Banister scooped up a pigeon that interrupted his game himself.

The Rangers beat the Angels, 5-3.
