4 long shot Super Bowl bets that could win big money
The 2017 NFL season is crawling mercifully closer, and with speculation heavy in the air, what better time is there to throw a few bucks on a long-term, speculative bet?
Or, in the case, more than a few bucks.
David Payne Purdum covers the Las Vegas sports books for ESPN ( who's a great follow on Twitter, by the way), and late last week, we revealed four big bets that were recently placed at William Hill's U.S. branch.
$990 on the Jaguars? Might as well have lit that money on fire. Same with that $2,000 on Washington.
A potential $90,000 payout on New England is interesting, though throwing down $15,000 on a season-long bet resting on the arm of a 40-year-old quarterback (even if he is Tom Brady), is rife with pitfalls.
But that $3,000 on the Chargers at 100/1? Very interesting indeed. That's a $300,000 payout on a team that we're pretty bullish on this year, in a division that has some major questions about each team within it.
It's a long shot, yes, but it could be a genius one by season's end.
