Nebraska students support Arkansas State coach’s wife

The Nebraska student section reminded everyone that some things are bigger than sports at the Cornhuskers' game vs. Arkansas State on Saturday.

They put up a sign that said "Get well soon, Wendy Anderson" to show support for Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson's wife, Wendy, who battled breast cancer. A couple days before the game, Anderson announced that his wife is cancer-free on Twitter.

She traveled to Nebraska with the team, according to the Associated Press.

The student section, known as The Iron N, even wrote a heartfelt message on Twitter saying, "We would like to congratulate Wendy Anderson on being CANCER FREE and wish her a speedy recovery! You're an inspiration to us all."

Anderson called the move "very classy" and thanked them via a tweet.

Additionally, the Red Wolves announced that they'll be wearing helmet decals "to honor Wendy Anderson's fight against cancer as well as help raise awareness about cancer and cancer research."
