'Daily Show' asks: When's right time to protest?
One of the very bad arguments given for why NFL players shouldn't protest during the national anthem is that it's just not the time or the way to do it. There's been suggestions that it should be done somewhere outside of a professional sporting event on national television or perhaps even not in public.
"They have the right to have the first amendment off the field," Steve Mnuchin said this week.
This is of course ridiculous because the whole point of protests is to … never mind. We'll let Trevor Noah take it from here with what he imagines Mnuchin's suggestion would have been to civil rights icon Rosa Parks:
"Hey Rosa, why you protesting on the bus? People have places to be. Take the bus to your house. Sit down on your couch. And boom! Racism solved."
