ESPN commentator's awkward blunder

While the UCF Knights were battling Memphis in a thrilling American Athletic Conference championship game, veteran college football reporter Brett McMurphy broke the news that UCF coach Scott Frost will become the next coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

ESPN commentator Steve Levy announced McMurphy's report on air while the game was in double overtime, and credited "our own Brett McMurphy."

There's just one problem. McMurphy worked at ESPN for five years, but was laid off back in April.

McMurphy addressed the blunder on Twitter, and even changed his Twitter bio.

After UCF won Saturday, Frost was immediately asked about the report on the field and said he wanted to celebrate with his team.
