Joel Embiid shares the hilarious message he had for Okafor
Joel Embiid loves to talk trash, so of course when he was asked what he told his friend Jahlil Okafor after Okafor was traded to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, Embiid said to reporters:
"I was just like, 'Love you, new beginnings, love you. Good luck,' and I made sure to let him know that every year, four times, I'm gonna kick his ass."
That's true friendship right there, and you know it's real because just a couple weeks ago Embiid was encouraging 76ers fans to chant "We want Okafor!"
Plus, as NBC Sports Philadelphia's Jessica Camerato notes, Embiid does this to everyone. It's not like he's picking on Okafor.
Before playing against former teammate Nerlens Noel in October, Embiid said he'd dunk on him.
