Bills' White calls Gronkowski's suspension 'a joke'

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will serve a one-game suspension after his brutal cheap shot on Tre'Davious White landed the Bills defensive back in the concussion protocol.

When the suspension was announced, many around the NFL thought the league was being too lenient, especially after JuJu Smith-Schuster was suspended one game for a block on Vontaze Burfict.

White agreed that the NFL handled Gronkowski's discipline poorly. He called the one-game suspension "a joke" on Thursday.

White said:

"Man, it's a joke. I don't know what to say on that. I'm laying there. He snuck me with my backed turned. He could have broke my neck. I got a son to raise. All that. People don't think about that when they just react."

Though Gronkowski apologized through the media after the game, White said he never got a personal apology from the Patriots tight end.

Head coach Bill Belichick personally apologized to Bills coach Sean McDermott after the game.
