Did Sean Payton aim 'choking' sign at Devonta Freeman?
The Atlanta Falcons escaped with a 20-17 Thursday night victory over the New Orleans Saints that included a whiff of controversy.
Early in the fourth quarter, NBC cameras caught Saints head coach Sean Payton making the "choke" signal with his hand while yelling the word repeatedly:
There are all kinds of possibilities for what Payton was trying to do, but Falcons running back Devonta Freeman thought it was aimed at him:
"Man, I saw it. That man don't know nothing about choking. He ain't from where I'm from, he don't know about choking, but he's a good competitor, so probably the 'competes' probably came out, but we don't let that bother me. He don't know nothing about choking."
What did Payton say about it?
All we know for sure is the two teams meet in Week 16 for what might be the NFC South crown, and it should be especially heated.
