LeBron makes statement with 'Equality' shoe in DC
On opening night, LeBron James turned his shoes into an expression of social activism when he debuted the black colorway of his Nike LeBron 15 "Equality" PE sneakers. The shoes had the word, "Equality," printed on the back in large gold font.
With the Cavaliers playing in Washington D.C. on Sunday, LeBron again utilized his sneakers as a tool for symbolism. This time, he wore one black "Equality" sneaker on the right foot and debuted the white colorway on the left foot.
After wearing the black sneakers in October, LeBron wrote on Instagram, "Together we will persevere through all adversity, negativity and turn it into happiness and love!"
He didn't pass up on the opportunity to make a similarly powerful statement in the nation's capitol.
