Terps recruit can kick field goals with either foot

Although many college football teams' seasons aren't quite over yet with most of the bowl games still on the schedule, recruiting got exciting Wednesday, which was the first of a three-day early signing period.

The Maryland Terrapins - whose 4-8 record this season didn't get them to a bowl game - signed a key play who could turn out to be exceptionally valuable: Joseph Petrino from Richmond Hill, Georgia.

Despite being a two-star recruit, 247Sports ranks him as the 10th-best kicker in the 2018 class. Plus, Petrino can did deep field goals with either foot.

Among other things, the Terps are in desperate need of a quality kicker. The only two players who kicked field goals for them are seniors, and they only combined to kick 8-of-15 this season.

Of course, the pressure at the next level is different, and coach D.J. Durkin will probably have Petrino stick to one foot - looks like his right is the dominant one - but being able to kick 50-yard field goals with either leg is an incredible talent.
