SDSU lineman ejected partially from late hit
Things got intense early in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Saturday when San Diego State guard Antonio Rosales was kicked out of the game with a few seconds left in the first quarter.
Rosales was called for two personal fouls against Army on the same play - a 27-yarder from running back Juwan Washington - and after officials took a moment to discuss what they saw, the senior was ejected. While it's unclear what one of the unsportsmanlike conduct calls was, the other was blatantly obvious.
This hit on Army wide receiver Kevin Waites was beyond late, clearly dangerous and simply a cheap shot.
Here's ESPN's full clip:
This was Rosales' first game in weeks after he missed the last five regular season games with a foot injury. Not exactly a great way to end a college career.
An exciting first half - much of it thanks to SDSU running back Rashaad Penny - the teams entered the break tied at 21.
