Gordon Hayward wishes Celtics crowd Merry Christmas
Boston Celtics' Gordon Hayward is definitely not ready to return to the court yet after his devastating and gruesome leg injury in the first game of the season. He recently told For The Win that he's "right on schedule," but he also called it a long healing process.
But fans at the Celtics-Wizards game Monday got a little Christmas treat from the injured forward when he came out on the court at TD Garden and said a few words.
He said:
"On behalf of my teammates, the coaches, the rest of the organization, I just want to wish you guys a Merry Christmas, happy holidays. Thanks for the support this year. Go Celtics!"
The home crowd loved seeing Hayward standing without crutches or a boot and gave him a standing ovation. Here's another look at him walking away, which was a great thing to see for Celtics fans.
Hayward also sent a personal Merry Christmas message to his Instagram followers Monday morning too.
