Central Florida Twitter account takes jab at CFP committee after bowl win

Central Florida completed one of the more remarkable turnarounds in college football history on Monday after it defeated Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Just two seasons ago, the Knights were 0-12. With the win over Auburn, UCF finished the season at 13-0. The Knights won't have a chance to compete for a national title this year, but the team's Twitter account wasn't ready to see the season come to an end.

After the win, the official UCF account tweeted at the College Football Playoff a reminder of its 13-0 record.

Hey, it was worth a try. Athletic director Danny White went as far as to crown UCF as the national champion.

The win over Auburn proved that UCF belonged, but there's always going to be a team that feels "left out" in a four-team playoff. Obviously, the knock on UCF was its schedule. The Knights didn't play a ranked opponent until Dec. 2 - that 62-55 double-overtime thriller against No. 20 Memphis.

Still, it was a tremendous season and coaching job for Nebraska-bound Scott Frost.
