Carson Palmer announced that he's going to retire after playing for the Bengals, Raiders and Cardinals in his 15 seasons in the NFL. The Cardinals shared a heartfelt letter from the 38-year-old quarterback on Tuesday.

"When I entered the league, I was a 23-year old kid," Palmer wrote in the open letter. "I'm leaving it as a 38-year old husband and father of four with memories and experiences that I will treasure for the rest of my life."

Current and former players congratulated Palmer on his career on Twitter, including Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and former teammates.
