Watch Isaiah Thomas get standing ovation from Boston fans
Isaiah Thomas didn't play in the Cavaliers-Celtics game in Boston on Wednesday night because he made his debut in Cleveland the night before, and he isn't playing in back-to-backs. But, the guard was on the Cavs bench.
Celtics fans showed their appreciation when Thomas was shown on the jumbotron. Any boos were drowned out by cheers.
The cheers are exactly what Thomas deserved. Before the game, he said, per NBC Sports Boston:
"I love this city, I love this organization. They gave me an opportunity to be who I always wanted to be and I can't thank them enough. There's no hard feelings towards anybody in this city or to anybody in this organization. It's genuine love, and that's for the rest of my life."
Thomas got a standing ovation from fans in Cleveland too.
