Tara Lipinski narrates gold medal skate from 1998 Olympics
Tara Lipinski captured the hearts of Team USA fans 20 years ago when she won the figure skating gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics in Japan. At just 15 years old, she edged out expected winner Michelle Kwan, who won the silver medal.
Lipinski is now a commentator for NBC, and with the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics just around the corner, she rewatched her gold medal performance, along with her broadcast partner Johnny Weir.
Despite winning gold two decades ago, Lipinski admitted she was still nervous watching herself skate, but she shed some light on her mindset as the music started and throughout her performance and the challenges she faced competing at such a young age.
