Alabama QB Jalen Hurts was graceful and poised in post-game interview
Alabama's Jalen Hurts has been under siege all season long, from all angles, because he's simply not a great throwing quarterback.
His coach, Nick Saban, finally made a change Monday night, midway through the National Championship game. The move worked perfectly, and the Crimson Tide beat Georgia 26-23 in overtime.
ESPN quickly went to find Hurts - perhaps because he'd already shown sportsmanship by so vehemently supporting Tua Tagovailoa, his replacement - and was rewarded with one of the most graceful interviews we've seen in sports.
Yeah, he just won a National Championship and wasn't going to lash out, but he just as easily could have refused to speak. Here he is, though, composed and thrilled, even though a night he no doubt dreamed of and prepared for didn't go the way he'd hoped it would.
