I don't own an Apple Watch (I'm a Fitbit guy), but it seems like that thing will warn you if your heart rate goes up above 120 beats per minute and it wasn't due to exercise.
And given what happened on the field in Atlanta, Whitaker probably wasn't the only one whose heart rate spiked like that.
