An ex-NFL coach putts with a 5-iron, golfs well
I'm from the school of "if it works, do it" in sports.
Take this video of June Jones, the former SMU head coach who also helmed the Atlanta Falcons: He played at the Sony Open Pro-Am with no shoes on and putted with a 5-iron … and he made it work!
He explained that he got the yips with his putter, missing seven putts in a row, so he went to his 5-iron to knock 'em in. I'd also assume that he's good at golf if he's able to play in a pro-am.
But nobody's answered why he went shoeless. Maybe because he can in Hawaii?
