Brady says he was actually worried about injury

So what was actually wrong with Tom Brady's hand in the AFC Championship?

He laid out the details of his right thumb injury in full to WEEI on Monday morning, after a week of fans (and bettors) going crazy. He said he really wasn't sure, at one point, if he was going to be able to play in the game because of an injury suffered in practice when he reportedly ran ino running back Rex Burkhead.

From WEEI:

"It was pretty stressful. I was stressed out," he said. "You drive home and you have all these stitches in this place. You're driving home and I saw my wife and she said, 'What happened?!' and I said, 'I know, it was just an accident in practice.' She said, 'What is going to happen?' I said, 'I don't know. We'll see how it goes.'"

Added Brady: "We ran into each other and my thumb just got bent back. It wasn't his helmet or anything. Just kind of got bent back. That is why I felt it was a lot worse. The doctors went in and checked it out and we did things just to kind of check on everything and fortunately, there wasn't any damage that normally comes associated with that. I think we were very lucky."

After Sunday's game, Brady told reporters that he had suffered worse injuries - but was concerned about this one because of where it was. "If this was on my left hand, I could have cared less."
