Watch the Kobe Bryant short nominated for an Oscar

Kobe Bryant is officially an Oscar nominee.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend had his animated film, Dear Basketball , selected as one of five Academy Award shorts that could take home a golden statue.

Here's the film, which took a poem Bryant wrote and published on The Players' Tribune in 2015 to announce his retirement and set it to beautiful animation and music by John Williams:
