Poker player speechless after the unluckiest hand
Oof, this is as bad of a beat as you'll ever see, and it came late in an online poker tournament for one streamer.
Kevin Martin - who won a season of Big Brother Canada - was holding Ace of diamonds, King of hearts and forces an opponent to go all-in. There's over $204,000 at stake as Martin discovers his opponent is also holding King-Ace, only his is the King of diamonds (this is very important).
In a case like this, splitting the pot is likely … except the flop comes out and there's a Jack and a 9 of diamonds. That's huge for Martin: Two more diamonds and he'll have the better flush than his opponent.
The turn the 10 of diamonds. And then the flop is … the Queen of diamonds. Yes, he's got a flush, but his opponent has a straight flush:
Just brutal. Martin reported that this happened with 24 people left in the tournament and he had a laugh over his reaction:
