Chalmers cost bettors money with buzzer-beater

Grizzlies guard Mario Chalmers has hit some big shots in his basketball career. But few were costlier than the final shot from Wednesday's Grizzlies-Jazz game.

Utah went into the game as a 6.5-point favorite and led by seven points as time was winding down. The Jazz were going to cover the spread just narrowly.

That was until Chalmers did this:

Chalmers picked up his dribble, traveled and threw up a casual shot from shy of midcourt, which, of course, went in because gambling is the cruelest. The no-call on a clear travel was just insult to injury.

Final score: Jazz 92, Grizzlies 88.
