Baseball world reacts to Darvish's deal with Cubs

Yu Darvish is headed to Chicago.

The right-handed pitcher was a coveted free agent, and he and the Cubs agreed to a six-year, $126 million deal, Paste BN Sports confirmed Saturday.

FTW's Ted Berg predicted the exact terms of the deal almost perfectly early last month and explained:

Chicago already signed starter Tyler Chatwood this offseason, but the departures of Arrieta and John Lackey leave them thin in the rotation at a time when they've got a stacked lineup full of players in their prime and an obvious path to landing atop the NL Central for the third straight year in 2018.

He helped push the Los Angeles Dodgers through the NLDS and NLCS in the fall but had a subpar performance in the World Series. He was the losing pitching on the other side of the Houston Astros' Game 7 victory.

Darvish was reportedly also weighing multiple $100 million options before going with the Cubs. Here's how baseball Twitter reacted to the news Saturday.
