Heroic NASCAR crew member runs with new car window
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Something incredible happened during the NASCAR XFINITY Series race Saturday.
Deep into multiple overtimes in the PowerShares QQQ 300 thanks to wreck after wreck, Chase Elliott in the No. 88 Chevrolet with JR Motorsports - Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team in the second-tier series - lost his right side window. Because that's obviously dangerous, NASCAR black flagged him, meaning he could not continue the race until it was fixed.
So what do you do?
You get a hero crew member to bolt to the hauler and go get another window. That's exactly what happened, and it made for an amazing and hilarious moment.
While it's unknown exactly what caused Elliott's window to come undone, it's possible it was this gigantic overtime wreck. Either way, that JR Motorsports crew member is the MVP of the race.
And this is how it (finally) ended.
