Fergie breaks silence on botched anthem performance

Fergie's national anthem rendition at the NBA All-Star Game quickly became one of the stories from the event in Los Angeles.

Her entire 2.5-minute performance had both players and fans in the crowd openly laughing all while Twitter roasted the effort. It could've been better.

Amid all the criticism, Fergie commented on the embarrassing performance. She said that she had tried her best.

Via TMZ:

"I've always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I'm a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best."

It wasn't the first time Fergie's national anthem rendition had missed the mark.
