76ers fans gave Brent Celek standing ovation
After 11 seasons with the Eagles, tight end Brent Celek was released on Tuesday. His teammates and fans were sad to see the longest-tenured player go.
While Celek was at the 76ers-Pacers game in Philly later in the day, the fans showed him so much love. They cheered for the Super Bowl champ as he waved and thanked them.
"He has been a huge part of everything we have been building over the last decade and it is only fitting that he was able to help us win our first Super Bowl last season," the Eagles said of Celek in a statement after they released him. "This one is as tough as they come, but in our eyes, Brent will always be an Eagle."
