ESPN will do All-Access 'SportsCenter'
It sounds like we'll see a real-life "This is SportsCenter" commercial - like this one - take place next Tuesday night:
Well, maybe not quite like that.
But ESPN has a plan to do a special "All Access" episode of SportsCenter on Tuesday night in which, per the Worldwide Leader, we'll see "seldom seen places around ESPN's Bristol campus. Planned access includes a live look inside SportsCenter's home, Studio X, and the SC control room; entry into the screening room, where highlights are created; a visit to the SC Top 10 laboratory; a stop in the SC Green Room and other unseen workspaces within the state-of-the-art Digital Center 2, where the show originates from."
ESPN senior VP Norby Williamson also hinted that a "This is SportsCenter" ad might materialize live on the spot.
"You never know who - or what - will show up for this type of event," he said in a release.
Here's Steve Levy - who will anchor the special edition with Michael Eaves - to break it down further:
It sounds cool, but it'll be even better if we see some mascots and pro athletes deliver tapes and crack jokes.
