Why Pelicans coach thanked Kobe Bryant after sweep
Sure, Anthony Davis had 47 points and Jrue Holiday had 41. But Alvin Gentry opened his press conference after the Pelicans' sweep of Portland by thanking Kobe Bryant.
His shoes, it seemed, saved Holiday from stepping out of bounds at a key moment.
"I'd just like to thank Kobe Bryant and Kobe 1s," he said, "Because if he didn't have those nice Kobe 1s, he'd probably be down the sidelines. But because he was wearing those good old Kobe 1s, his heels were up and he wasn't out of bounds and that's how we got the ball back."
Thoughts, Kobe?
