Bjorn surprises golfer who bowed out of tourney
Last week, Yorkshire native Stephen Atkinson told us nothing else had happened to him besides Internet fame after he wrote a tongue-in-cheek letter to European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn withdrawing his name from team consideration.
"In Andy Warhol's 15 minutes (of fame), I probably have 19," he told us from across the pond.
Well, here's minute 20: Bjorn took the Ryder Cup to Atkinson's house and surprised him with it:
"This has got way out of hand!" an elated Atkinson said to Bjorn. I disagree - it's incredible what this has turned into and proof that taking the effort to write a letter seriously paid off.
