WSOP player celebrates prematurely, loses big
Sang Liu thought he had won a World Series of Poker bracelet early Friday morning in Vegas, but his exuberant celebration was cut short thanks to a brutal river card.
Liu and Roberly Felicio had nearly even stacks in heads up play for a $1,000,000 prize in the $565 Colossus No Limit Hold'em, and Felicio went all in holding a Jack of diamonds and eight of hearts. Liu had Felicio beat with a Jack of clubs and 10 of spades, and a flop of 7d-3c-Js and turn of Kc left Felicio with just three outs to win the pot.
Felicio caught a miracle on the river, an eight of diamonds, to stun Liu and take a pot worth 61.4 million chips. Felicio went on to win the event and take the bracelet.
